Giusti Garden was laid out in its present form in by Count Agostino Giusti who completed the work by commissioning Orazio Farinati to fresco the façade with allegorical figures of Faith, Hope, Charity and Justice. The garden was further embellished with fountains, a fishpond, a labyrinth and a citrus grove adorned with statues, and also an aviary.

The palazzo was built for a literary circle around him in the Giusti’s house. Agostino Giusti is also remebered as a collector of artworks and antiquities. Unfortunately his collection was dispersed as early as 1641, although the twenty-eight Latin epigraphs laid out in the gardens survived,most of them still extant, with the addition of other antiquities.

Despite the inevitable damage and alterations which the garden has undergone, it still retains its fascination for the poetic contests of the literary circle of Agostino Giusti. In our own times the garden has on occasion provided an exceptional backdrop to events in the Summer from the Season Theatre of Verona.
